The great volume and complexity of the data involved in the Spanish electricity market makes necessary to organise them in a structured way, to take advantage of the underlying information. In spite of it, even if data are stored in standard relational databases, a same variable can take different values depending on the version or on the data origin selected. Indeed many different data origins could be selected to obtain the value of many of the variables considered. In order to simplify and normalise data access, the main objective of the project consists of the development of a set of procedures to allow users to access operation information in a unique and efficient way. These data access procedures are a preliminary layer for the development of a complete data analysis system based on advanced data processing and data mining techniques.
